Iíve been playing Vic Firth drumsticks since 2005. Iíve always had a great experience with the consistency of Vic Firth sticks and have been able to depend on them for weeks of shows in a row on tour. I usually take 3 or 4 pairs into the studio with me and have no problem tracking 13 songs with full power and precision, confident that just a few pairs will get me through.
In 2013, I got a call that Vic Firth was interested in working with me to design, manufacture, and sell my own signature stick. Over the course of the next 8 months I tried dozens of different models out and based my signature stick on the Vic Firth 3a. My signature stick is slightly longer than the 3a and is weighted a little differently but proves the same power when you lay into drum or cymbal. My signature stick is made from hickory wood, has a Taj Majal style tip, and is a natural finish (no surface coating). It has a diameter of .585? and a length of 16 7/16?
